If we had a machine that could make more time, we wouldn’t be accountants; we’d be busy selling that machine. Until that happens, let’s take a moment to agree that we all wish we had more time.
Of all the places you could save time, accounting and taxes should be number one and number two on your list. If they aren’t, take a minute and fix that.
So why should you cross accounting and taxes off your to-do list forever?
It’s not worth your time, and you’re playing a game you’ll never win, that’s why. We have a lot of customers, but you want to know who’s not one of our customers? Accountants.
The only reason you should do your own accounting and taxes is that you’re an accountant yourself. If you’re not, skip them altogether.
You’re great at what you do. Doing that thing earns so much that it doesn’t make any sense to waste time doing other things. Especially accounting and taxes.
Would you be surprised if we told you there are over 75,000 individual tax codes? How about the rules that change every year? And the cherry on top is actually two cherries.
If you make a mistake, you’re subject to ridiculous fines, penalties, and seizures. If you skip the mistakes somehow and do everything yourself, your other reward is spending more than you need to.
Anyway you slice it, accounting and taxes are a waste of your time unless you’re us.
Being a small business owner is more than a full-time job; it’s a way of life. It’s demanding, rewarding, frustrating, and challenging all at the same time. The last thing you need is something else to do.
After your first year with us, we ask all our clients the same question. Do you regret not doing your accounting and taxes yourself?
You don’t need to be a mind reader or have a crystal ball to guess the right answer. In all the years we’ve been in business, we’ve never had a single client say they wanted to go back.
How’s that for proof?
We invite you to see how much better life is with a great accountant.
